Overview
Rush Commercial Construction, Inc. is seeking a proven Project Engineer to join a well-established regional construction company that specializes in Class A office, healthcare, multifamily developments and senior housing. The Project Engineer represents the company and its Core Values while ensuring safety, scheduling, quality, budgeting, and customer service are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Review plans and financial projections to support project decisions
- Create project schedules and maintain regular contact with subcontractors to ensure work meets specifications and is on schedule
- Represent the company in accordance with its Core Values and policies
- Develop strong relationships with consultants, owners and subcontractors; participate in industry organizations
- Coordinate leads and opportunities with PM; post to CRM and follow up appropriately
- Utilize Timberline Estimating for take-offs, compile estimates, and prepare small change orders and TI estimates
- Track owner changes and impacts on estimates across phases; assist PM with value-oriented cost-saving options
- Support subcontractor prequalification, bid development, and instructions to bidders
- Develop knowledge of environmentally sound practices and LEED considerations; assist with permit submissions and site planning
- Ensure plans and specifications are complete and ready to bid and build from
- Understand schedule relationships with procurement and submittals; help develop practical design and permitting schedules
- Draft subcontracts in a timely and thorough manner; manage subcontract change orders
- Own the RFI and submittal log processes; coordinate with trades and monitor progress
- Maintain delivery schedules with each subcontractor and monitor compliance
- Track unit-price work quantities and facilitate progress against goals
- Identify and communicate potential impacts and delays from owner activities, especially when PM is not on site
- Record minutes and decisions from meetings; assign responsibilities
- Report safety concerns to the Superintendent and support billing and cost-control efforts
- Ensure field work complies with project documents and submittals; identify and close out non-compliant items
- Gain exposure to civil and structural techniques and learn construction methods
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalentMinimum 1-3 years of related construction experience in scheduling, field supervision, procurement, and knowledge of production across all phases of constructionExcellent written and verbal communication; strong management, planning, problem solving and negotiation skillsProficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project, Procore and BluebeamCertifications and / or Licenses : First Aid and CPR, CESCL, and 30 Hour OSHACompensation and Benefits
Base pay range : $80,000.00 / yr - $105,000.00 / yrAnnual bonus opportunity based on company and individual performanceSalary range (DOE) : $80,000 - $105,000 per yearBenefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Dependent Care Insurance, HSA, FSA, EAP, Short Term Disability, 401(k) and 401(k) Match; other plans availablePTO : 108 hours per year; Paid Holidays : 8 per yearAdditional Information
