About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse
Profession : Nursing

Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 12H Days Every Other Weekend or up to 3 weekends per month if unit is busy
Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week
Experience : Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience required. Experience must include EITHER neuro or cardiovascular.
License : Valid nursing license required
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have :
- Full 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered.
- Experience in either neuro or cardiovascular cases preferred.
- RNs are required to titrate drips.
- Experience with common titratable and / or set rate drips is essential.
- No monitor techs on unit; RNs are required to interpret their own strips.
Description :
This position requires extensive recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
Candidates must have 3 years of recent ICU experience with a focus in either neuro or cardiovascular care.
RNs will need to titrate medication drips, including Propofol, fentanyl, and others.
The nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 depending on the situation.
Charge nurses will not take patients.
Continuous presence of hospitalists or intensivists is maintained.
The unit operates 24 / 7 with respiratory therapists available around the clock.
Common diagnoses include trauma cases, sepsis, ARDS, and various surgical outcomes.
Self-scheduling is allowed, but shifts may be balanced at the manager's discretion.
Weekend requirements include working 3 weekends in a 4-week schedule.
There are no additional call or standby requirements, but low census may occur.
Floating to other units is expected, and may be required on occasion.
Orientation specific to the unit may last 1-2 days.
Skills will be validated for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices as needed.
