Position Description : The part-time Community Program Presenter (CPP) is a community outreach position of Girl Scouts Louisiana East. This position is responsible for delivering and facilitating interactive Girl Scouts (GS) program presentations, events, and activities with K-12 girls from diverse backgrounds and cultures in schools, churches, community centers, public forums, and other non-traditional settings, generate awareness and increase interest in participating in Girl Scouting.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIESSet Up and Support Events : Transport materials and supplies to event locations. Help with setting up and taking down equipment, tables, and A / V gear. Track attendance, gather participant info, and assist with program instruction and general room setup.Assist and Facilitate Programs : Help the Community Program Specialist (CPS) lead presentations, meetings, activities, and events using approved Girl Scouts materials (visuals, handouts, etc.).Deliver Quality Experiences : Make sure every program participant has a positive experience that reflects the values, mission, and goals of Girl Scouts.Support Outreach Efforts : Help bring Girl Scouts programs to new locations (like housing communities or non-traditional settings), encouraging long-term membership with minimal supervision.Build Relationships : Work closely with site contacts (such as schools or special program locations) to ensure ongoing partnership and support for outreach programs.Represent the Brand : Use a consistent Girl Scouts tone and style when sharing information, materials, and program content.Help with Grant Programs : Assist the CPS in gathering data and preparing reports for grant-funded programs.Manage Your Schedule : Keep your Outlook calendar updated to show your availability. Let the CPS know as early as possible if there are schedule changes or conflicts.Track Participation : Keep records from attendance sheets, registration forms, and surveys (before and after programs).Stay in Touch : Communicate regularly with the CPS to stay aligned on your responsibilities and goals. Coordinate with other Girl Scouts team members as needed.Seek Feedback : Talk with your supervisor often to get feedback and stay aligned with Girl Scouts membership goals.Be Flexible : Be available to work both remotely and in person, especially at the GS DreamLab when assignedPerform other duties : As assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Experience, and Certifications-A high school diploma or GED equivalent required. An Associates degree in English, Communications or a related filed is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of experience interacting with youth or students in school, camp, youth ministry, club, community service or similar role is required; not-for-profit / volunteer-based settings is preferred.Knowledge of GS programs is preferred.Skills and Competencies-A passion for working in a non-profit environment with youth and the public.

The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse individuals and groups.Must have the ability to deliver presentations to small and large groups utilizing effective persuasive, public speaking skills.The ability to maintain confidentiality.

The ability to maintain a positive, collaborative attitude.

The ability to problem-solve in a fair and diplomatic manner.

Willingness to maintain flexibility in assignments.Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel. Ability to learn Council programs.Additional Requirements and Availability-Minimum age is 18 years old.Willingness and ability to travel within Council jurisdiction.Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.Become a registered member of GSUSA and maintain membership during employment.

Have reliable transportation along with documentation of a valid drivers license, required automobile insurance and safe driving record.Represent the Council professionally, to both internal and external audiences, and provide courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties, donors, members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.

Support, comply with and adhere to all GS and Council policies in a professional manner, independently and with minimal oversight.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical Demands :

Ability to sit or stand for up to five (5) hours at a time.

Must be able to perform moderate physical activity, including walking, using hands and fingers, bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and in writing.

Must have good vision, including the ability to see up close and at a distance, distinguish colors, see peripherally, judge depth, and adjust focus.

Good hand-eye coordination is important due to the physical nature of some tasks.

Must be able to occasionally lift or move boxes and materials weighing up to 35 pounds without help.

Work Environment :

Work is performed in a mix of indoor / outdoor environments such as community centers, youth centers, schools, gyms, parks, and other public or program-based locations.

Occasional work may take place outdoors during events or activities and may involve exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

Environments may vary in temperature, space layout, and noise level, with some locations being more active or louder than a typical office.

The noise level can range from quiet to moderately loud, especially during youth programs or community events.
