Position Overview
A Massachusetts health system is seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist to provide locum tenens coverage in an on-going basis. This assignment focuses on reducing colonoscopy backlog and expanding procedural capacity. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in gastroenterology, efficient with both upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, and comfortable working across 3 close proximity outpatient locations.

Coverage Term : Anticipated 1-year assignment (with potential for extension)
Coverage Dates : Target start 11 / 1 / 2025
Note : Credentialing typically requires 60-90 days; later start date may be necessary if new license is required
Schedule : 5 days / week 8-hour shifts No call
Note : Occasional overtime may occur depending on case volume and turnover
Workload : 14-16 patients / procedures per day
Procedures : Upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
Interview : Virtual meeting with GI physician lead
Agency Note : HPA Healthcare is Joint Commission-certified. Travel and lodging prepaid; malpractice fully covered.
Skills & Experience
MD / DO, fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology
Board Certified in Gastroenterology (required)
Active MA license (or ability to obtain; will affect start date)
Proficient in upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
Outpatient GI / endoscopy experience required
