Audit Manager Senior Audit Manager
Position Overview
The Senior Audit Manager is responsible for overseeing the audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic guidance to audit teams. This role involves risk assessment, internal controls evaluation, and enhancing financial reporting processes to support organizational objectives while maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of audits in accordance with GAAS and GASB standards.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern and develop audit strategies.
- Evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate audit findings and recommendations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the audit team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategic plans for the audit function.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and assess their effectiveness.
- Manage external audit relationships and coordinate activities as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.CPA or equivalent certification is required.Minimum of 7 years of audit experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.Strong knowledge of risk assessment and internal controls frameworks.Experience with financial reporting and compliance in a government context.Proven team leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.Demonstrated ability in strategic planning and audit planning processes.Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and initiatives.Benefits
