Territory Sales Manager Overview
The Territory Sales Manager is a seasoned, motivated, entrepreneurial and business‑minded sales professional who prospects, develops new business and services a strong network of existing retail florists in the Illinois and Indiana Market. The Teleflora Territory Sales Manager is a base + commission + bonus position tasked with maximizing total customers and total margin within the territory of existing member and prospective florists. The primary objectives are achieved through a balanced approach of face‑to‑face, written and phone interactions with customers to achieve individual targets and company goals.
Job Description
- Service an account base of approximately 375 member florists by representing Teleflora and establishing relationships as a key account manager with owners and decision makers.
- Identify and sell prospective florists within the territory on the value proposition and benefits of being a Teleflora Member Florist.
- Sell Teleflora’s suite of services to both current and new members, primarily consisting of eFlorist Web Hosting, Credit Card Processing, Point‑of‑Sale Shop Management Systems and other products as necessary.
- Provide consistent and focused retention efforts for membership as well as retention across Teleflora’s suite of services.
- Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending floral industry programs as needed.
- Utilize internal sales tools (including Sales Dashboard and CRM), member statements, data and reports to maximize sales and retention, and prepare and deliver professional sales presentations.
- Establish a daily, efficient operating rhythm characterized by a disciplined approach and steadfast commitment to targets & objectives.
- Educate florists on Teleflora products to drive engagement and help florists achieve greater customer satisfaction through increased profitability.
- Maintain frequent and consistent business contact with florists to strengthen relationships and regular contact with internal support groups.
- Work with Regional Vice President to identify opportunities within the territory and strategize the best approach to exceeding individual and company targets.
- Collaborate with peers on best practices and techniques to help the team succeed.
- Travel 25%-50% overnight as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent, 5+ years experience in a territory management sales and service role.Impressive track record in sales & service, including strong closing & negotiation skills.Ability to manage multiple products for hundreds of customers.Proven ability to close and manage relationships – both in person and over phone.Strong time management, communication, execution and analysis skills.Ability to work independently from a home office with travel.Excellent teamwork, emotional intelligence, and ability to collaborate very well.Solution‑oriented optimist, competitive, fast‑paced and comfortable with a dynamic organization.Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.Additional Information
