As a Entry Level Structural Engineer at ATMI Precast, you will apply your engineering education to real-world structural design challenges. You will gain hands-on experience working with precast concrete systems and modern modeling tools, collaborate with experienced engineers, and see your work come to life in large-scale buildings. Summary
The Structural Engineer is an entry-level engineering-track role focused on applying engineering principles to real-life structural design and construction applications. This position involves learning ATMI’s engineering processes and software, performing calculations and modeling under the guidance of senior engineers, and preparing drawings and documentation in CAD and BIM environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all work in accordance with approved office processes, formats, and standards
- Perform engineering analyses and calculations under the direction of senior engineering staff
- Assist with the design of precast components, connections, and 3D structural models
- Prepare drawings, models, and supporting documentation in AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla
- Conduct 3D finite element analysis and design under supervision
- Participate in the development of in-house design templates, checklists, and standards
- Review and verify drawings, calculations, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Meet project deadlines and adhere to budgeted hours
- Support project teams by coordinating with engineering, drafting, and production staff
- Participate in external and internal training sessions and seminars to advance technical skills
- Manage assigned tasks and assist in leading small project activities as a Task Leader
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferredBasic knowledge of structural analysis and design principlesUnderstanding of finite element analysis and modeling conceptsFamiliarity with load analysis, including snow, seismic, and wind designBasic knowledge of current building and material codesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe / Bluebeam)Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar CAD / BIM softwareExposure to engineering software such as RAM, RISA, TEDDS, or equivalentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and interpret technical and construction documentsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesDesire to learn new engineering tools and continuously improve technical skillsAble to work collaboratively in a team environment with diverse professionalsAble to work for extended periods at a computer and occasionally visit construction or plant sitesEnvironment and Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbsMay be required to visit job sites and manufacturing plants with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and dustOffice-based role with extended computer use
