DropletPharma is building two microscale devices that will accelerate radiopharmaceutical discovery and production, transforming health outcomes worldwide. As a Robotics Engineering intern on our team, you will be tasked with taking ownership and implementing core improvements to electromechanical and fluidic systems for our two flagship systems. This will be a fully in-person position in Los Angeles, CA (near LAX) for the spring (approximately January to June, with opportunity to continue until September) with flexible start and end dates.
What you will have ownership over :
- Designing, implementing, testing, and characterizing mechanical, pneumatic, and fluidic subsystems for our radiopharmaceutical production and discovery systems
- Generating new solutions to design problems in CAD
- Building and testing assemblies and prototyping systems
- Analyzing test assemblies and prototypes to assess their performance with respect to engineering requirements
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of design documentation (e.g., engineering drawings, BOMs, etc.) as well as manuals and SOPs for operation of prototype systems
- Designing and performing experiments to evaluate new concepts and designs
- Troubleshooting and improving designs
- Developing test instrumentation, tooling, and fixtures
Requirements

Pursuing B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar2+ years of experience with SolidWorksAssembly of complex systems (mechanical, electromechanical, fluidic, pneumatic)Experience using or implementing real-time control systemsProficiency with electronics and microcontrollers3D Printing & Rapid prototyping experienceAutomation / test tools in Java, Labview etc.Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Experience that would be great, but not required :

DropletPharma aims to provide competitive compensation. We expect this position to be a regular, full-time position, with an hourly rate of $30-40 / hour, depending on your experience and education.
Please note that we are unable to sponsor a visa for this position and therefore can only consider applications from individuals already authorized to work in the United States. Although our primary location is in Los Angeles, CA, we welcome applications from candidates residing anywhere.
