General Laborer
Responsibilities :
- Perform carpentry tasks with exceptional craftsmanship within the allocated time.
- Produce container projects according to plans and specifications.
- Ensure job site safety, cleanliness, and security.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the production team, including welders and laborers.
- Stay informed on the entire project scope, including any changes and scheduling.
- Order construction materials and parts as necessary.
- Resolve problems independently without direction from superiors.
- Maintain a positive attitude even in challenging situations.
- Remove rust from large shipping containers using a hand-held grinder.
- Strip and remove decals from the outside of containers.
- Use a small hand-held saw to remove debris, with cut-resistant gloves provided.
- Wash out containers using a pressure washer.
- Remove flooring and debris from inside containers using a small hand saw.
- Prepare containers for painting and spot paint small areas as needed.
- Perform pressure washing at 2300 PSI.
- Use a hammer or sledgehammer to smooth out dents.
Essential Skills :
Experience in general labor, cleaning, yard work, and pressure washing.Proficiency in using hand tools, including hand saws, grinders, and sanders.Ability to remove rust and perform minor painting with a paintbrush.Experience in cleaning and pressure washing containers.Capability to use a hammer and sledgehammer to address dents.Additional Skills & Qualifications :

Work Environment :
Work in an outdoor / yard-type setting, either outside or inside containers.While protected by overhead canopies, you will occasionally be exposed to elements.A cooling area with AC and hydration is available.Expect to work in dirty conditions near an airport with airplane noise overhead.Steel-toe boots are required, and safety glasses and cut-resistant gloves are provided.Be prepared for wet and humid conditions, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles.Loud noises are typical for this role.Job Type & Location :
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
