Regulatory Consultant
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Agricultural Environmental Services is seeking a Regulatory Consultant. Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of professional or nonprofessional experience in administrative work, regulatory work, consumer complaint program work, interviewing, business administration, customer or public relations, or investigations. Professional or nonprofessional experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals six years can substitute for the above requirements. Educational verification is required for graduates from the United States. Foreign trained graduates must provide a copy of a credential evaluation conducted by an Approved Credential Evaluation Agency.

Additional requirements include regulatory responsibilities and compliance with s. 112.313, Florida Statues 60L-36.003, Florida Administrative Code. Job duties include reviewing applications to determine eligibility for licensure, certification, or registration, evaluating applications for completeness and compliance with applicable requirements, verifying fee payments, communicating with Finance & Accounting regarding refunds, payment issues, and any other related discrepancies, updating, transmitting, retrieving, and changing information to records in applicable databases, processing and updating all insurance documents received for the section, and communicating in writing or verbally with customers to ensure documents are correct and complete for processing. The position is required to assist co-workers and other sections within the division and perform related work and tasks as requested by division management.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include the ability to communicate effectively, work independently, deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner, and use personal computers.
