Maintenance Worker

Location : Hagerstown Corps - Hagerstown, MD

Position Type : Regular Part Time 28 hours weekly

Pay Range : $15.00 - $17.00 hourly

This position is responsible for :

Performing routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performing routine grounds keeping work to ensure the beautification of the landscape; performing minor plumbing and carpentry repair work. May be required to assist with driving responsibilities for donation pick-ups, and Christmas / seasonal activities.

Key Responsibilities :

• Performs routine building maintenance activities; performs minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets; performs carpentry work required to repair dents and / or holes in walls and paints walls.
• Performs preventative maintenance of Salvation Army vehicles; monitors and replenishes all fluid levels.
• Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc.
• Monitors activities and visitors of building and grounds to ensure security.
• Keeps inventory of materials needed and repair items needed for maintenance work and alerts the Corps Officers.
• Cleans surroundings after each repair job; ensures that all tools are collected, and surroundings are left neat and clean.
• Monitors lighting and changes light bulbs when needed.
• Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to the Maintenance Department.
• Alerts Corps Officers when supplies are needed for all Corps functions.
• Cleans the Corps, gyms, bathrooms, floor, and kitchen.
