General Information :

The Office of Residence Life at James Madison University is accepting applications for a Facilities Technician. The Office of Residence Life is committed to designing and maintaining a caring environment that encourages academic success, respect, personal growth, and responsibility to one's community.

The Facilities Technician reports to the Assistant Director of Business Operations and supports the mission of the Office of Residence Life by providing management of residential facilities for the department. The successful candidate will ensure that the residential environment is safe, clean, well-maintained, and they will provide supervision and guidance to employees.

The Facilities Technician will be part of the Residence Life team that serves 6,700 residential students on a campus with 33 residential buildings that is continuing to grow. We are a close-knit department with 35 full-time staff members and over 250 student staff members.

Duties and Responsibilities :

The Facilities Technician will support the mission of Residence Life by ensuring the residential environment is safe, clean, well-maintained, and contributes to student education and development.
