Job description

Overview : Join a dedicated healthcare team providing compassionate care in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Unit. This full-time, day-shift role involves delivering essential patient care, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
  • Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Manage and maintain stocked and clean patient care areas.
  • Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
  • Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
  • Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.

Education and Certifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience and Skills :

  • No prior experience required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work variable shifts with significant standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Capability to turn and lift patients safely.
  • Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
