Security Officer - Unarmed Media Patrol

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Media Patrol in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech / Media / Telecom and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that may arise. You will also serve as a point of contact for employees and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. Position Type : Part Time

Pay Rate : $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTime Fri 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM Sat 07 : 00 AM - 03 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter, helping to deter unwanted activity and maintaining a visible presence.
  • Monitor the premises for unusual activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets within a technology, media, and telecommunications setting.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and / or clients, providing assistance and information as required.
  • Complete required documentation and security-related reports in a timely and accurate manner.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
