Job Description
Are you the machinist who thrives on complexity?
If multi‑axis work, tight tolerances, and independent setups are your comfort zone, this role is for you. You’ll machine aerospace parts on 2–5 axis CNC equipment and conventional machines, switching seamlessly between milling and turning while working with minimal supervision.
Your impact
- Operate multiple CNC and conventional machines, including mills and lathes, across 2, 3, 4, and 5 axes.
- Perform pre‑operational checks to confirm machine readiness.
- Read and apply blueprints, manuals, and job specs to determine dimensions, tolerances, process sequence, and setup needs.
- Own complex setups : adjust jaws, tools, and offsets independently.
- Stage and move material using forklifts; load parts safely and efficiently.
- Use cranes and hoists to handle larger workpieces.
- Conduct test runs to validate machine parameters and programming accuracy.
- Select and secure tooling, fixtures, and materials appropriate to each job.
- Dial in machining parameters—speed, feed, coolant, and depth of cut—for best results.
- Monitor operations continuously and adjust as required.
- Inspect and verify parts meet specifications before release.
- Accurately track time on every operation using the designated system.
- Follow standard work and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
