Brookhaven Hospital specializes in the rehabilitation of adults with neurologic disorders such as acquired brain injury (ABI).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with registered nurses (RNs), mental health technicians (MHTs), therapists, and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care to patients
- Assists patients with basic care patient care activities, but not limited to bathing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation
- Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and helps patients maintain independence
- Takes and records vital signs accurately, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate
- Performs routine tasks such as changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized patient environment
- Collaborates with nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of patient care provided
- Participates in treatment group processes for patients as assigned
- Maintains a safe environment for patients, families, staff and visitors
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent requiredCompletion of a CNA program and current CNA CertificationPrior experience working with individuals with brain injuries, mental illness or other disabilities preferredMust be able to work rotating weekend shiftsAbility to pass state and federal background checks, pre-employment physical and drug screen are requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environmentPHYSICAL CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS
