Accounting Specialist

Johnson Service Group (JSG), has an immediate opportunity for a Construction Accounting Specialist with a fast paced growing company.

Contract to Hire | Onsite | $32 - $35 / Hr. based on skills and experience

Join a dynamic and growing construction company as an Accounting Specialist supporting the day-to-day financial operations of our business. This role focuses primarily on Accounts Payable (A / P) while providing support across Accounts Receivable (A / R), general ledger, and construction accounting functions. You'll play a critical part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our accounting processes while collaborating with internal project teams. Responsibilities :

• Oversee all A / P activities including invoice review, coding, entry, and processing.
• Match purchase orders (POs) and route for approvals.
• Manage vendor payments, lien releases, and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and reporting.
• Assist with payment posting and reconciliations.
• Ensure lien releases are processed and vendor inquiries are resolved promptly.
• Prepare journal entries, job costing, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and standard financial reports.
• Support month-end close and subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
• Compile audit documentation and maintain internal controls.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Provide accounting support to internal project teams.
• Manage the accounting inbox and respond to inquiries.
• Act as backup to the Accounting Supervisor as needed.
