Associate, Investment Operations

As an Associate, Investment Operations on our team, you'll perform procedures, analysis and report preparation to support the full lifecycle of investment operations in a global infrastructure. You'll be responsible for account administration, account reconciliation, reporting, transaction management and / or trade support activities as well as support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, process reviews and / or system enhancements. Interface with internal and external personnel including senior operations staff, legal, relationship management, IT, banks, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, and / or traders to obtain information, execute routine transactions and resolve problems. Establish new securities, compliance rules, new accounts, and or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement and / or the client reporting process. Identify and resolve issues associated with client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and / or compliance breaches. Prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and client needs. Develop an understanding of Principal Asset Management's products, team procedures, and customer needs through self-initiated research, participation in available training programs and involvement in ongoing investment activities.

Who You Are
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics or business. 2+ years of professional or intern experience in investment / mutual fund operations. Knowledge of financial services and investment related terminology.
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
Experience with investment reconciliation processes. Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, time management and communication skills required. Knowledge of business applications and software including Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency), preferably Power Query and / or Power BI. Detailed oriented. Client service orientation, the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven, team-based environment to produce accurate and timely information with limited supervision.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $67500 - $85000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible No
Location
This role will be based out of our World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA. Work Environments This role offers the ability for in-office or three days in-office and two days remote. You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
