About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12 Hours (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Experience : Minimum of 2 years overall experience and 1 year in specialty

License : MO or Compact license required, must be in hand at time of submission

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPI (pending at start and completed on-site for free), NIHSS

Must-Have : Charge experience, knowledge of charting systems

Description :

P shift every weekend in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Able to be scheduled for 50% of holidays encountered during the contract.

May be floated within the medical-surgical cluster.

Patient ratio experience required.

Experience with charting systems is preferred.

Trauma Level I experience is preferred.

Prior travel experience is required.

Skills required include arterial line management and assisting with management of BiPAP and CPAP.

Must be able to perform blood product administration and care of ventilated patients.

Central line care and management experience is required.

Experience with chronic and acute renal failure is necessary.

Ability to handle continuous IV sedation and manage CVA / acute stroke cases is essential.

Interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias is expected.

Isolation precautions and use of PPE must be practiced diligently.

Experience in IV insulin protocols and management of dysrhythmias is required.

Must understand care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure.

Phlebotomy skills are necessary.

PICC line management is required.

Post-cardiac surgery experience is preferred, along with pre / post cardiac catheterization administration and monitoring.

Competence in procedural sedation administration and monitoring is required.

Familiarity with pulmonary artery line / Swan Ganz monitoring is necessary.

Must be skilled in starting and maintaining IVs and suctioning (ETT, NT).

Experience with surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacs is important.

Ability to titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive drips is essential.

Experience with transcatheter aortic valve implantation / replacement (TAVI / TAVR) is preferred.

Must be proficient in ventilator management.

Interdisciplinary support teams will be available including IV teams, physical therapy, and rapid response teams.

Candidates should expect to float as required.

Must work 50% of holidays during the contract.

All travelers must be willing to float, including as patient observers (sitters).
