Engineering - Draft and Design Technician

Multiple Shifts Available :

1st Shift - Mon-Friday 0600am-230pm.

2nd shift schedule is Monday-Thursday, 2pm-12am. The shift incentive includes a 10% -15% premium, paid lunch, 3 day weekends, eligibility to transfer to 1st shift as needed.

Weekend Shift schedule is Friday-Sunday, 6am-6 : 30pm. The shift incentive includes a 11.11% shift differential and 3 day workweek.

What you can expect as a Engineering - Draft and Design Technician at DAS Aviation :

As Engineering - Draft and Design Technician, each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. You will need to have a basic to advanced knowledge of aircraft structures, reading blueprints, working from drawings, fastening systems, procedures and techniques.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including :

• The proper development of technical data, including substantiation for FAA 8110-3 Approval.
• Research processes and procedures for modifying, repairing, and altering components.
• Creation and verification of work order planning documents.
• Assist shop with the interpretation of drawings, processes and procedures to assist with the repair of components.
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases, Microsoft office and other Engineering Programs
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What you'll need to bring with you :

Your Education :

College degree in mechanical engineering is not required, but ideal. A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and / or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience :

Journeyman : 0-5 years of experience as sheet metal technician

Master : 5+ years' experience as a sheet metal technician

Your Sense of Responsibility :

Attend work every day as scheduled; opportunities to work overtime as workflow permits

Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.

Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.

Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.

Maintain customer oriented work habits.

Physical Requirements

Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.

Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas

Standing for long periods of time.

Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.

Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.

Work with others in a professional manner.

Supervision

Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in controlled environments in industrial warehouses

Equipment Used

Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.

Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
