About The Position

Job Title : CT Technologist

Profession : Allied Health

Hours per Shift : 3x12.0

Experience : Minimum of 2 years Level 1 Trauma Center experience

License : NYS licensure required prior to starting

Certifications : BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)

Must-Have :

Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Description :

Overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, on call, and callback per unit needs are required.

Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan.

Strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety.

Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.

Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.

Insert IVs when necessary for the test.

Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; safe patient handling must be utilized.

Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within the system.

Identify images and assure images are sent to the system correctly upon exam completion.

Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.

Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.

A patient and compassionate disposition is necessary.

Must be a team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment.

Injection certification is preferred and must be completed during the orientation process.

Knowledge of relevant equipment is preferred.
