Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with at least one year of critical care and Epic charting experience for a rotating pre / post PACU and interventional radiology role.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level I Trauma PACU and interventional radiology pre / post area within a large acute care hospitalPatient population includes complex surgical cases such as GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, bariatric, and ENTNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Required to rotate between PACU and pre / post IR within the PACU service lineSchedule is four 10-hour day shifts Monday through Friday with rotating 8 : 00–10 : 00 am start timesNo regular weekend or night shift requirement24 hours of on-call per 6-week schedule periodFloating may be required within the service line to meet unit needsEpic EMR experience requiredRNs are responsible for managing complicated post-operative patients, including those with multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilationRole includes covering pre-op and post-op care in both PACU and IR-associated areasFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyNavy scrubs requiredHoliday coverage may be requested depending on staffing needsPrevious permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a travelerOrientation includes paid online modules, up to 16 hoursTravelers can stay up to 18 months before a mandatory 3-month break is requiredRequirements
Active MO or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of consideration)Current BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum of one year of recent critical care or Level I Trauma Center RN experience requiredProficiency with mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, multiple drains, and recovery from general anesthesia requiredExperience with vents, IV starts, and telemetry requiredMust pass Relias EKG exam with interpretation / management of dysrhythmiasEpic charting experience requiredMust reside at least 75 miles from the facilityNo more than 7 days of requested time off during the 13-week contractBenefits
