Overview

In this role, responsibilities will include underwriting 1st and 2nd liens, standalone helocs, conventional and jumbo home loans in accordance with Fannie Mae and Credit Union guidelines. Must remain current on and relays on investor guidelines, mortgage insurance updates and other critical underwriting information to Home Loan processing team.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites first and second lien home loans in accordance with Patelco Credit Union credit guidelines, investor requirements and various federal and state regulations
• Stays abreast of internal and regulatory changes that affect tasks related to the processing and underwriting of mortgage loans
• Stays abreast of changes to private mortgage insurance guidelines and communicates them to management
• Provides and promotes exceptional customer service, internally and externally
• Completes information accurately and conducts the appropriate audits to ensure accurate completion of home loan transactions
• Responds promptly to requests for assistance and information from internal and external parties, and conducts appropriate follow up to ensure satisfactory conclusions; completes underwriting of home loans within prescribed timelines based on volume.
• Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations(including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures
