Director I, Cargo Claims and OS&D
Under administrative direction, lead a team of managers, examiners, and intake representatives within the Cargo Claims and OS&D Department. Accountable for setting the strategy, direction and approach to managing all aspects of the department. As part of director responsibilities, establish processes, tools and relationships with vendors (contracts, rates, etc.), manage department budget, monitor operations and team performance, and act as the last point of escalation for issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the department in customer interactions as needed to direct resolution efforts that address escalated concerns and preserve mutual business value
- Oversee claims operations to ensure timely and adequate response to and processing of claims requests in order to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide understanding and guidance to team members on understanding customer contracts and cargo insurance coverages.
- Monitor KPI's and performance metrics to ensure department goals are met.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage cargo claims expenses, ensuring alignment with overall claims cost objectives.
- Implement and maintain up to date fraud detection and prevention strategies.
- Effectively cultivate and maintain working relationships with senior leaders / areas of the business to understand business needs, align on claim decisions, establish / review processes to effectively respond to claims requests.
- Work with business leaders and safety groups to identify and discuss trends, review processes, analysis safety / technology / process investment and related ROI, develop action plans to address issues.
- Provide management guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, as needed, including other personnel actions (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring).
- Be available on call to support night operations with their questions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification :
High School Diploma or GED with more than 5 years combination of education, experience, and training in Cargo Claims and OS&D or related fieldPreferred Qualification :

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
