Communication Specialist / Technical Writer Job at Peraton in Sully Square

Responsibilities

We're seeking a skilled writer to join our communications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing and editing, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-organized content that meets the needs of our stakeholders. This role involves working closely with senior-level customers and subject matter experts to develop various written materials, from in-depth technical articles to brief workforce communications such as promotion announcements or policy updates.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Writing and editing communication materials, including news articles, interviews, and workforce announcements
• Conducting interviews with subject matter experts to gather information for relevant communications
• Translating complex topics into accessible and understandable written content for non-technical audiences
• Recommending new communication products to enhance the organization's public image
• Meeting publication deadlines for all communication materials
• Reviewing and editing colleagues' work for publication
• Assisting with content management activities as a backup for team members
• Supporting workforce events by taking notes, managing equipment, checking badges, etc.

Qualifications

Minimum of 11 years of experience with a BS / BA; 9 years with an MS / MA; 7 years with a PhD.

Salary Range : $135,000 - $216,000, based on experience and other factors.
