Job Title : Assistant Dean of Simulation
Department : Nursing | College Administration
The Assistant Dean of Simulation is appointed by the dean and has delegated administrative responsibility for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation-based education within the College of Nursing in collaboration with the Associate and Assistant Deans and Directors. This is a 12-month clinical track position with administrative effort of 50%. The primary purpose of this position is to uphold accreditation in simulation, using fiscal responsibility to manage allocated funds, revising simulation policies and procedures as needed, ensuring personnel coverage for all high-fidelity simulation and skills training events, and overseeing simulation personnel to uphold their responsibilities to smoothly deliver day-to-day simulation events. This role involves strategic planning, faculty development, and ensuring the integration of simulation into the curriculum to enhance student learning outcomes. The position reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Educational Innovation.
Availability : Some early morning, evening, or weekend events may be required based on seasonal activities. This position is not remote / hybrid.

Education : Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., nursing, medicine, health sciences, education).
Experience : Significant experience in simulation-based education and faculty development.
Skills : Proven leadership and management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work well in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge : Knowledge of general nursing care and academic nursing curriculum. A strong understanding of accreditation standards and best practices in simulation. Familiarity with research and scholarship in simulation.
