Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg and Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a CO or compact RN license and AHA certifications.

Responsibilities

  • This is a centralized float pool position with assignments across Med / Surg and Tele units
  • Work may take place at any facility within a 60-mile radius of the float zone's city center
  • Patient population includes adult med / surg and telemetry cases
  • Assignements will vary and may include duties outside the original assignment requirements as per policy
  • 12-hour night shifts are required
  • EPIC is used for documentation and charting
  • Care for diverse adult patients across multiple units within designated float zones
  • Responsibilities include assessment, developing care plans, medication administration, wound care, catheterization, and patient education
  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary health care team
  • Delegation to non-RN personnel is expected according to policy
  • Continuous education and professional development are encouraged
  • Participation in quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities is expected
  • Must adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards
  • Travel assignments not open to local candidates within 60 miles

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license in Colorado or a compact NLC state is required and must be in hand
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Current AHA certifications : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
  • Minimum of one year RN experience preferred
  • Must be able to float to multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius
  • Experience in med / surg and telemetry settings preferred
  • Must reside outside the 60-mile radius from the float zone city center
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season, with medical exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis
