CNC Applications Engineer, Phillips Hybrid

We’re looking for you to redefine manufacturing possibilities by partnering with customers to solve their most complex challenges using our innovative Hybrid solutions. You'll develop ingenious additive and subtractive strategies on Phillips Hybrid platforms, maximizing both precision and efficiency. Your work will involve creating, simulating, and validating advanced CNC and DED toolpaths to ensure seamless integration from design to production.

You’ll drive customer success by delivering hands-on training to both customers and internal teams. You'll conduct on-site and remote demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and test projects that showcase the full capabilities of our Hybrid solutions on the Haas platform. Your expertise will help create repeatable, scalable process templates for common applications, accelerating customer success and adoption.

Push the boundaries of innovation through continuous exploration, testing, and refinement of cutting-edge additive and subtractive processes, tooling, and materials along with your partners. You'll evaluate the impact of variables like laser power, wire feed speed, and travel rate on metallurgical properties and dimensional accuracy, then translate your findings into practical guides and training materials.

Amplify our reach by working cross-functionally with Sales, Service, Engineering, and Marketing to support customer acquisition, onboarding, and retention. You'll craft detailed application reports, case studies, and technical content that empower our sales efforts and share your knowledge across the company.

This role is based out of our Hanover, MD office, but does require 60% - 80% travel across the US with the potential for international travel occasionally. Also, due to the requirements of our customers, candidates must be a United States citizen and able to pass a comprehensive background check.

The expected pay range for a qualified person in this role is between $90,000.00 and $110,000.00 per year. If you have a different suggestion, please mention it in your application.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD / CAM software (e.g. Hypermill, Mastercam, Solidworks, or Siemens NX).
• Proficiency running CNC machines 3,4 and 5 axis. (Haas controls strongly preferred)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine tool operations and strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• A willingness to be challenged while learning new technologies and giving legendary customer service.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office along with CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge is a plus (Python, VBA, ect)
