Hourly Pay : $23 | Mileage Reimbursement : $0.70 / mile | Start Date : October 13, 2025\n\nJoin the frontlines of recovery and make a direct impact in the lives of families affected by Hurricane Helene. As a Door-to-Door Outreach Specialist, you’ll be the face of hope—educating residents about FEMA relief funding and guiding them toward resources that can help rebuild their homes and lives.\n\nThis is not a sales role—it’s a mission-driven opportunity to serve your community and ensure no eligible household is left behind.\n\n🗓️ Training & Schedule\nStart Date : Monday, October 13, 2025\n\nTraining : One-day, in-person session\n\nSouthern Regions : Asheville\n\nNorthern Regions : Boone\n\nTravel and lodging fully covered if needed\n\nWeek 1 : \n\nMonday : 8-hour training\n\nTuesday –Friday : Outreach (32 hours)\n\nTotal : 40 hours\n\nOngoing Schedule : \n\nTuesday –Saturday, 8 AM–5 PM\n\n40 hours / week\n\n🚗 Mileage & Travel\nDaily odometer photos required (start and end of day)\n\nDrivers reimbursed at $0.70 per mile\n\n🗺️ Regional Assignments\nYou’ll be assigned to one of the following counties in Western NC : \n\nRegion\tCounties & Positions\nNorth\tWatauga (2), Mitchell (7)\nSouth\tHenderson (15), McDowell (5), Yancey (6), Haywood (6), Rutherford (2), Buncombe (16)\nEach region is supported by two-person teams traveling door-to-door together.\nGoal is to have a person that lives in that county support that county

• \n\n 🧭 Responsibilities\nConduct door-to-door outreach in assigned neighborhoods\n\nEducate residents about FEMA disaster relief programs\n\nCollect contact info and assess interest in follow-up support\n\nBuild trust through respectful, empathetic engagement\n\nSubmit daily reports on outreach progress\n\nUse mobile tools to log visits and share resources\n\nDistribute flyers, brochures, and contact info\n\nRefer complex issues to appropriate staff\n\nMaintain professionalism and positivity in all interactions\n\n✅ Qualifications\nStrong communication skills and community service mindset\n\nFamiliarity with Western NC neighborhoods preferred\n\nReliable transportation and willingness to travel\n\nBasic tech proficiency (smartphone apps, GPS, data entry)\n\nAbility to walk and work outdoors in varying conditions\n\nBilingual (English / Spanish) a plus\n\n🎁 What We Offer\nTravel and lodging covered for training\n\nSupportive team environment with daily check-ins\n\nConsistent 40-hour work week (Tuesday– Saturday)\n\nOpportunity to make a tangible difference in disaster recovery\n\nPotential for extension beyond January 1 for top performers

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 / hr.
