POSITION SUMMARY :

The Ultrasound Technologist will provide services, timely and efficiently, at appropriate levels to all patients and in all settings served by the department. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform various ultrasound exams such as : Abdominal, OB / GYN, Venous and Arterial Peripheral exams, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. This employee will be responsible for daily quality control, infection control of patient testing equipment, scheduling patient, patient assessment and patient education. This position will also include other activities performed by the imaging department such as performing portable and routine radiography exams as well as performing Cat Scans W / WO contrast.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Experience : One year of previous experience as an Ultrasound Sonographer is required. Must possess skills and competencies in the use and operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment and skills and competencies in performing various ultrasound exams. Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.

Education : Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program and a graduate of an ultrasound program which is accredited by ARDMS.

Special Qualifications : Current La. State License as a Radiologic Technologist

ARRT Certification

ARDMS Registry or Registry eligible.

Current BLS (CPR) certification.
