Pool/Fitness Lifeguard The Strat (Las Vegas, Nv)

Assists guests in the proper use of pool facilities and equipment. Monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and to provide a safe and healthy aquatic environment for hotel guests. Maintains cleanliness of pool deck area and provides excellent guest service. Handles any emergencies as appropriate.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains supervision of the pool, ensuring the safety of the pool area
• Appropriately addresses any issues, concerns, or guest violations with guests
• Recognizes and responds effectively to all emergencies
• Enforces all facility rules and regulations
• Maintains a clean and attractive pool environment
• Reports any unsafe conditions to the pool manager or lead lifeguard
• Performs on poolside stage with games and activities for guests
• Monitors fitness center as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

• One to three months of related experience or training preferred
• Excellent guest service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency situations
• Ability to effectively communicate in both one on one and group settings

Required Work Cards:

• CPR and First-Aid certification
• Lifeguard certification

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently walk, stand or stoop (over 75% of the time)
• Ability to walk and/or run on slippery surfaces (over 75% of the time)
• Regularly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (50% of the time)
• Speech, hearing, literacy, and vision (critical)
• Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions (over 75% of the time)
