Work Shift Various Shifts (United States of America) Job Summary As a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse , you’ll provide expert care to patients with critical neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and post-surgical neurosurgical cases. You will be a vital member of a multidisciplinary team that values precision, communication, and continuous learning. Your responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, timely intervention, and constant advocacy for your patients. You’ll use cutting-edge technology and evidence-based practices to deliver the highest standard of neurocritical care. Core Responsibilities & Essential Functions Deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Perform the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation — tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Monitor, assess, and manage hemodynamic and neurological status , including intracranial pressure monitoring and ventilator management. Administer medications, including sedation, vasoactive infusions, and anticonvulsants , following unit protocols. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure seamless, coordinated care. Respond to emergencies quickly and effectively, using advanced critical care protocols. Support patients’ families through education, updates, and emotional reassurance. Participate in shared governance, continuous quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives. Qualifications Education : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN / MSN) preferred. Licenses & Certifications : Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Single State or Compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred (or to be obtained within 6 months). Experience : Minimum 1 year of ICU or Neurocritical Care experience preferred. Strong background in acute and complex patient care environments. Skills : Proficient in critical thinking, assessment, and intervention in high-stress situations. Exceptional teamwork, communication, and time management skills. Competent in EHR documentation and clinical technology.
