American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in Illinois, requiring ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is on an 18-bed Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital settingNight shifts available in either 3x12 or 4x12 schedules from 18 : 00 to 06 : 30No weekend or on-call requirementFloating may occur within scope, including to pediatric units as neededCerner is used as the charting system; prior Cerner experience is preferredScrubs are provided for this roleProvide comprehensive care throughout antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stagesSupport high-risk deliveries, assist with vaginal and C-section births, and manage newborn care immediately after deliveryPerform labor management tasks including sterile exams, non-stress testing, and fetal heart rate monitoringEducate and support parents with newborn care, discharge instructions, and postpartum wellnessRequired to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if the assignment occurs during those datesLocals are accepted with no radius restrictionsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyFree parking is provided with a required permit\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license or in application process prior to considerationMinimum of 2 years' experience in Labor & Delivery requiredCurrent certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring required (AHA or Red Cross only)Proven experience in Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, LDRP, and Mother / Baby requiredDemonstrated competency in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, phlebotomy, medication administration (including Pitocin, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate), and C-section circulationMust have skills in APGAR scoring, newborn assessment and care, pain management, postpartum and neonatal care proceduresBackground check and vaccine administration experience requiredCannot be a permanent or PRN employee of Memorial within the last 12 months\n Benefits\n
