Job description

A healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Oncologist to join their Hematology / Oncology team. This is a contract opportunity providing outpatient coverage, with a flexible schedule and potential for extension.

About the Opportunity :

  • Location : Connecticut (multiple outpatient sites)
  • Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm (flexible)
  • Duration : 3+ months, with potential to extend
  • Setting : Primarily outpatient, with possible inpatient component
  • On-Call : Physicians - every 3rd weekend & 1 weekday; APPs - no call
  • Coverage need due to provider leave

Responsibilities :

  • The Hem / Onc Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician will be responsible for :
  • Managing oncology follow-up visits
  • Performing chemotherapy teaching for patients
  • Providing emergent support to onsite infusion centers
  • Conducting in-office bone marrow biopsies
  • Supporting general oncology patient base (GI / GU focus preferred, generalists welcome)
  • Qualifications :

  • Active Connecticut medical license (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • 2+ years of Hem / Onc or related clinical experience preferred
  • Graduate degree (NP, PA, or MD / DO)
  • Current NPI, DEA, and CDS
  • Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills
  • Desired Skills :

  • Prior experience with bone marrow biopsies
  • Oncology / hematology subspecialty training or exposure
  • Ability to adapt across outpatient and inpatient settings
