TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med / Surg RN in Berkeley, California, 94705!

$2,431 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Medical Surgical

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 2 years required

License : Valid State License required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

Epic charting system experience required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Previous charge experience preferred

Description :

Medical Surgical Registered Nurse needed.

Shift : 3 / 12s - 19 : 00 to 07 : 30.

Weekend requirements : Every other week.

No on-call responsibilities.

May float to other units within the scope of practice depending on need and census.

The expectation is to be flexible with floating to different campuses or within the hospital.

Shuttle service provided if floating is requested.

Job Duties :

Responsible for the overall management of nursing care from admission to discharge.

Assure safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients.

Respond to medical and environmental emergencies.

Provide patient care in routine and complex situations.

Serve as liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate patient care.

Coordinate involvement of patient, physician, family, and health team members.

Set priorities and initiate emergency interventions as needed.

Skills and Knowledge :

Demonstrate knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, and general healthcare procedures.

Administer treatments and perform nursing skills in a timely manner.

Maintain current knowledge of patient care status.

Observe and monitor patient's physical condition and behavior.

Assess and support the development of unit and team goals.

Participate in quality assurance and improvement processes.

Patient Advocacy :

Serve as a patient advocate to ensure all needs of the patient and family are met.

Conduct multidisciplinary rounds and care conferences.

Initiate actions to improve healthcare or change decisions against patient wishes.

Professional Development :

Identify personal performance goals and take steps to meet those goals.

Provide input related to staff development programs.

Actively participate in professional committees.

All other duties as assigned.
