Title : CVOR Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech)
Location : Columbia, SC
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Day Shift, 4x10-Hour (07 : 00 – 17 : 30)
Job Responsibilities :
Assist cardiovascular surgeons during open-heart and vascular surgical procedures by preparing and managing sterile surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.Set up, test, and operate specialized equipment in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques throughout procedures.Work collaboratively with the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists.Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes.Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) before, during, and after procedures.Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, maintained, and sterilized following hospital policies.Provide on-call support for emergency and after-hours cardiovascular cases as required.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives related to surgical services.Required Skills & Experience :
Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR surgical technologist experience .Experience in Trauma Level I hospital preferred.EPIC EMR experience (minimum 1 year required).Proficiency in handling cardiovascular surgical instruments and operating specialized CVOR equipment.Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, patient safety standards, and OR protocols.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment.Education & Certifications :
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.NBSTSA (Certified Surgical Technologist) required.NCCT certification accepted only if employed as a Surgical Technologist in South Carolina prior to January 1, 2008, or if completed a military training program.
BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required.ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Preferred.About HonorVet Technologies
