Attorney-Civil Litigation

Byron Edwards & Lemley, APC is an established insurance defense law firm in downtown San Diego. We are looking for a civil litigation attorney to join our fast-paced team. Our firm specializes in defense of design professionals including architects and engineers. The successful candidate, will be responsible for case management, discovery, appearances in court (virtually and / or in person as the court may require), and assisting in matters, including trials.

Responsibilities :

• Handle cases from initial intake including meeting with clients and project file review.
• Provide legal advice to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients accordingly.
• Plan and execute a discovery plan, including case management orders.
• Work with legal staff to ensure that all pre-trial motions, pleadings, and discovery documents are prepared and completed in a timely manner.
• Prepare documents including letters, status updates, stipulations, and the like based on client needs.
• Propound and respond to discovery, depositions, and motions; prepare trial briefs.
• Assist with trial preparation.
