About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Environmental Program Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering environmental services. This is a seller-doer position - you will both lead and deliver technical work (NEPA / SEPA, permitting, groundwater / soil assessments, compliance monitoring) and act as a trusted advisor , helping shape solutions that align with their long-term goals.

This is an exciting opportunity to partner with one of the nation's largest transit expansion programs.

Responsibilities :

Lead environmental task orders (scope, budget, schedule, quality) across groundwater, permitting, NEPA / SEPA compliance, and construction monitoring.

Deliver technical work directly - field assessments, data interpretation, regulatory documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

Serve as the primary client contact with Sound Transit : anticipate needs, provide consultative solutions, and ensure responsiveness.

Build long-term relationships by helping Sound Transit achieve more than project compliance - guiding them toward best practices and future-focused solutions.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and technical specialists to ensure seamless project delivery.

Identify new opportunities within the MATOC framework and contribute to proposals and pursuits.

Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, client-focused culture.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field.

10+ years in environmental consulting, with demonstrated project management experience.

Strong background in NEPA / SEPA, permitting, groundwater / soil investigations, and environmental compliance.

Proven ability to act as a seller-doer - both delivering technical work and growing client relationships.

PMP certification strongly preferred; PG, PE, or equivalent professional registration a plus.

Knowledge of toxicology, hazardous materials, or risk assessment desirable.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Experience working with public agencies (Sound Transit, WSDOT, FTA, Ecology, or similar) is highly valued.
