American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding / Boarding unit with required PCU experience and Cerner proficiency.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an ER Holding (Boarding) unit with acuity adaptable beds, admitting patients from MS, PCU / stepdown, and ICU levelsPatient acuity ranges from MS to ICU with ratios of 1 : 4-6 based on acuity and patient needsThe unit size fluctuates from 4 to 10 beds with staffing adjusted according to needsTeam nursing model utilized, including working with LPNs and CNAsFloat required to inpatient PCU unit and potentially to affiliate hospitalsWeekend shifts required every other weekendNight shifts only, working 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30)No on-call requirementsCerner EMR system is used and experience is requiredProvide care for patients boarding from the ED until discharge or transfer to an inpatient unitWill float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed based on volumeTeam-based patient care and delegation to LPNs and CNAs requiredPre-completion of modules required prior to startMust work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignmentFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionIN residents and local candidates are not eligible for this role except in specified disciplinesUp to 5 days of non-holiday RTO automatically approved; more than 5 days requires approval\n \n Requirements\n
Active IN or compact RN license in hand prior to startMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with recent PCU experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or RQIGraduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation required at graduation)Experience with Cerner EMR requiredAbility to work in a team nursing environment with LPNs and CNAsMust not have been employed in a perm or PRN role at the facility within the past 12 months\n Benefits\n
