American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Bloomington, Indiana.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding / Boarding unit with required PCU experience and Cerner proficiency.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an ER Holding (Boarding) unit with acuity adaptable beds, admitting patients from MS, PCU / stepdown, and ICU levels
  • Patient acuity ranges from MS to ICU with ratios of 1 : 4-6 based on acuity and patient needs
  • The unit size fluctuates from 4 to 10 beds with staffing adjusted according to needs
  • Team nursing model utilized, including working with LPNs and CNAs
  • Float required to inpatient PCU unit and potentially to affiliate hospitals
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • Night shifts only, working 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Cerner EMR system is used and experience is required
  • Provide care for patients boarding from the ED until discharge or transfer to an inpatient unit
  • Will float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed based on volume
  • Team-based patient care and delegation to LPNs and CNAs required
  • Pre-completion of modules required prior to start
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • IN residents and local candidates are not eligible for this role except in specified disciplines
  • Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO automatically approved; more than 5 days requires approval

  • Active IN or compact RN license in hand prior to start
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with recent PCU experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or RQI
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation required at graduation)
  • Experience with Cerner EMR required
  • Ability to work in a team nursing environment with LPNs and CNAs
  • Must not have been employed in a perm or PRN role at the facility within the past 12 months
