The Embedded AI Solutions Engineer will be a key liaison between Knexus' technical development teams and our government partners, specifically at DLA HQ in Ft. Belvoir, VA. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of AI solution delivery, from initial user requirements gathering and solution design to implementation, transition, and post-deployment support. The ideal candidate will have a strong consulting background and a proven track record of successfully managing complex technology projects in a high-stakes environment.
Responsibilities
- Customer Management and Partnership : Act as the primary technical point of contact for DLA stakeholders, building strong, trusted relationships. Effectively communicate project progress, technical challenges, and solution value to both technical and non-technical audiences. Actively listen to customer needs and concerns to ensure a high level of satisfaction and successful project outcomes.
- User Requirements and Analysis : Work directly with DLA personnel to elicit, document, and analyze user requirements for AI-enabled systems. Translate complex and often ambiguous user needs into clear, actionable technical specifications. Prioritize requirements based on mission impact, feasibility, and alignment with government objectives.
- Solution Design and Integration : Collaborate with Knexus' data scientists and engineers to design AI solutions that meet the defined requirements. This includes understanding target deployment requirements and integration points. Participate in hands-on development and prototyping to ensure the proposed solutions are viable and addressing user needs.
- Transition Planning and Implementation : Develop comprehensive transition plans to ensure a smooth and effective hand-off of AI solutions from development to operational use. This involves coordinating with DLA teams on training, change management, and technical integration. Address any potential risks or challenges proactively to minimize disruption.
- General Consulting and Advisory : Serve as a subject matter expert on AI technologies and their application within the government sector. Provide strategic guidance and advisory services to DLA leaders on leveraging AI to enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, and achieve mission goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a consulting or solutions engineering role, with a strong emphasis on technology implementation and client management.Demonstrated expertise in the AI / ML space , including a solid understanding of machine learning models, data pipelines, and a variety of AI frameworks.Proven ability to gather and analyze user requirements from diverse stakeholders and translate them into a technical roadmap.Experience with transition planning for software or technology projects, particularly in a government or regulated environment.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner.Willingness and ability to be onsite at DLA HQ in Ft. Belvoir, VA multiple times per week.A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is a plus.PMP certification is a plus.Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance .About Knexus
