Overview
Verdantas is seeking a Substation Engineer to design new power substations and upgrade existing facilities from 12kV to 500kV. This onsite supervisory role reports to the Fort Worth, TX office and includes direct reports of engineers and designers. The role requires using accepted practices and standards to ensure quality and safety.
What You'll Do
- Develop project plans, including project scope of work and WBS for complex multi-discipline substation engineering and EPC projects
- Manage substation project execution : scope, schedule, budget, resources including external vendors, consultants, and contractors
- Track and stabilize projects, solve obstacles, ensure client goals are achieved
- Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes to maintain positive relationships
- Prepare and review preliminary designs
- Prepare proposals and budget estimates
- Lead development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables
- Ensure QA / QC adherence

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering6+ years of direct experience in substation physical and electrical engineeringProfessional Engineering license in any state, with ability to obtain licensure in other statesCombination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal requirementsSolid experience with design software such as MicroStation and AutoCADProficiency with Windows-based software (Word, Excel) for project deliverablesAbility to learn and utilize new design softwareAbility to work in a multidisciplinary teamStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and work product qualityYou Might Also Have
