Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a home health assignment requiring BLS certification and Oasis familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Home health position providing OT services in a post-acute care setting
  • Assigned to a specific geographical region for patient visits
  • Work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm with flexible hours
  • Every third weekend rotation and holiday coverage only as needed
  • Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic, stroke, joint, and spinal injuries
  • Interdisciplinary team includes PT, OT, Speech, and Rehab Aides / OTA / PTA (permanent staff)
  • Cerner EMR is used and experience is preferred
  • Orientation lasts 1.5 to 2 weeks and is specific to the assigned unit
  • Must wear business attire with a white lab coat; jeans are not permitted
  • Holiday coverage is for minor holidays with major holidays only if needed
  • Returning applicants must not have worked for affiliated facilities within the past year

    • Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted OT license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience
  • BLS certification required
  • Experience with Oasis documentation required
  • At least 1 year of PT / OT / Speech experience is required; home health experience preferred but not required
  • Copy of driver's license required
  • Two professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
