Senior Project Manager - Transportation And Logistics
The Senior Project Manager - Transportation and Logistics drives short and long-term initiatives supporting the strategic roadmap. This role leads implementations by engaging with senior leadership within and across functions in the elevation of business plans and initiatives, determines areas of opportunities and risks, develops alternative solutions to challenges, leads the execution of strategy plans and initiatives, and partners with senior leadership to support strategy development initiatives. The Senior Project Manager - Transportation and Logistics is responsible for governance of the projects, collaborating on the framework, tools, templates, and processes to balance resources against business priorities.
This role is segmented at Hybrid. The role will be onsite 3 days a month in Rosemont, IL and virtual.
Essential Responsibilities
- Leads the prioritization and alignment and manages the execution of the Transportation & Logistics initiative roadmap by identifying and evaluating resource needs and utilization across Transportation functions; collaborating with key stakeholders to analyze project initiatives; identifying and communicating interdependencies across operations and business units; developing prioritization recommendations and communicating the recommendations to execute and senior leadership; ensuring program alignment with business strategies and goals; obtaining buy-in on project prioritization and ensuring accountability for the initiative roadmap; reporting initiative status and results to executive leadership; and overseeing project alignment and resource planning for Transportation & Logistics
- Leads projects and project teams for Transportation & Logistics by determining scope, deliverables, objectives, and project plans and ensuring alignment with both the company and supply chain priorities; determining key project metrics and translating project requirements into goals; analyzing solution approaches and benchmarking them against industry standards and best practices; partnering with key stakeholders to create implementation and / or transition plans; monitoring impact of changes; evaluating progress against goals and standards; and adjusting project plans and initiatives accordingly
- Drives the execution of multiple business initiatives by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identify performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning
- Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, associates, or other key stakeholders by driving continuous improvement projects; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness

7 years of project management or project lead experience in supply chain with a focus on large-scale initiatives and continuous improvement projectsStrong project management functional experience with deep business, problem solving expertiseExtremely detail oriented and organizedAbility to influence others without formal authority with a solid understanding of the business context to communicate fact-based messages effectively across all levels of the organizationClear, concise communicator able to interface with all levels of the organization; strong written and oral presentation skills, including comfort delivering presentations to the senior leadership teamEducation
Bachelor's degree in business, transportation and logistics, operations management, supply chain management, engineering, or equivalent experienceCertifications / Training
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltPMP certification preferredPreferred Qualifications
Industry knowledge : Working knowledge of distribution operations, including routing and / or transportation, and of related federal, state and local regulations in the foodservice or transportation industry.Management consulting experiencePhysical Qualifications
Must be able to perform the following physical activities for described length of timeThis role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus. Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. Compensation depends on relevant experience and / or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example : state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $95,000 - $155,000.
