Required Skills & Experience

Active RN license in California

Minimum 1 year of hospice experience RN or Leadership

  • Experience with quality and regulatory indicators specific to hospice

Minimum 2 years of experience as a leader, supervisor, or manager in patient care operations

  • Must including staffing and supervision, coaching, counseling, and recruiting
  • Strong understanding of case management and discharge planning through hospice care
  • Background in SNF or outpatient clinic settings

    Comfortable with on-call rotation (Friday 5 PM to following Friday 8 PM, every 4 weeks; phone-based only)

    Willingness to conduct field visits (20% of time; approx. 46 hours / week)

    Ability to manage high census and GIP levels

  • General Inpatient (GIP) Care is one of the four levels of hospice care mandated by Medicare. It is designed for short-term, intensive symptom management that cannot be safely or effectively provided in a home or routine care setting. GIP care is typically delivered in a Medicare-certified hospital, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or hospice inpatient unit

    Job Description

    As the RN Manager overseeing Hospice Admission RNs, you will lead a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, hospice aides, case managers, chaplains, social workers, and administrative support. Youll manage patient care operations across an assigned territory that includes two hospitals and three facilities, with oversight of a CFE (contracted facility entity) housing patients. Your role involves supervising and coaching staff, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance, and supporting recruitment and onboarding efforts. Youll provide remote managerial guidance during on-call weeks, approximately every four weeks, handling calls from four hospice teams. Field presence is essential, with 46 hours weekly dedicated to shadowing disciplines and checking in on hospital partners. Youll also participate in monthly meetings in Encino and collaborate closely with the team physician, though they do not report directly to you. The team is expanding, all working under your leadership to maintain high census and GIP standards while delivering compassionate, compliant care. This role is hiring full time on-site in Ventura County offering competive pay starting at $130k annual compensation with great benefits and PTO .
