The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nations oldest and largest public housing authority with more than 152000 apartments and over 370000 residents. NYCHAs mission is to provide quality housing for New Yorkers that is sustainable inclusive and safe while fostering opportunities for economic mobility. NYCHA also administers a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 200000 tenants. Since the 2019 Agreement between NYCHA the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. District Court Southern District of New York (SDNY) NYCHA has been working under a Federal Monitor structure. The HUD Agreement sets the requirement to create a new Transformational Plan in collaboration with the Federal Monitor and sets forth various compliance related targets for NYCHA across major operational areas.
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) oversees the Authoritys support services portfolio including Supply Management & Procurement Information Technology Human Resources Employee Engagement Customer Contact Center and General Services.
The Office of the CAO seeks a Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO). This is a newly established executive role within the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer created to expand NYCHAs capacity to deliver strategic support services that strengthen operations and elevate organizational performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer the DCAO will serve as a senior executive leader charged with building and overseeing the newly established Strategic Initiatives team and providing leadership support across the CAO portfolio. As a key thought partner to the CAO the DCAO will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy driving innovation and advancing the implementation of NYCHAs Transformation Plan to ensure organizational alignment with core values of customer service compliance strategic sourcing of goods and talent infrastructure support and operational resilience.
