Job descriptionCarry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, providing customer service to clients and visitors at the location. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols. Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities. Monitor access points and observe for unusual or suspicious activity, reporting any concerns according to site procedures. Support emergency response activities as required, collaborating with law enforcement and / or facility personnel. Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities as directed by Allied Universal and site management. Assist with the enforcement of facility rules and regulations, addressing violations in accordance with site protocols. Participate in ongoing training and maintain required certifications for armed patrol duties within a corrections environment. Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent is required. Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or license as required by applicable laws and regulations. Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience, or possess a college degree. Possess a valid Corrections Officer License as required by applicable laws and regulations. Possess a valid Law Enforcement Officer License as required by applicable laws and regulations. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only. Security Officer - Armed Corrections Patrol
As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections Patrol in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.
As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a corrections environment, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure and orderly atmosphere. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols of assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This armed post requires you to carry and be proficient with a firearm as part of your daily duties. You will interact with staff, visitors, and residents, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. What You'll Do :
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
