Our Addison electrical transformer design / manufacturer client is looking for an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician.
This position oversees the maintenance of all machinery in the factory including :
- Coil winding machines.
- Welding machines.
- Packaging machines.
- Testing equipment.
- Large walk-in electric ovens.
- The facility's HVAC system.
- General facility management.
This role requires a blend of electrical, mechanical, and technical expertise to ensure production equipment runs efficiently and accurately.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Preventive and corrective maintenance : Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on coil winding machines to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life. This includes cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components like bearings, spindles, and tensioners.Troubleshooting and repair : Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues that arise with production equipment. Repair or replace faulty components to return machinery to operational status.Equipment testing : Use specialized testing instruments to observe and evaluate the performance of electrical and mechanical systems. This includes testing repaired motors and coils to ensure they meet proper performance standards.Coil winding support : Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils, often for repairs, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the winding process.Reading and interpreting documents : Analyze work orders, technical drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints to determine machine setup and winding specifications.Machine operation and setup : Operate coil winding machines and related equipment, such as bake ovens, grinders, and cranes. Perform machine changeovers and adjustments for different production runs.Quality assurance : Inspect coils for visual defects and verify that products conform to specifications. Record production data and quality metrics for documentation.Safety compliance : Adhere to all safety policies and procedures related to the operation of machinery and handling of electrical equipment.Collaboration : Work with engineering and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.Required Skills and Qualifications :
Proven experience : Prior experience as an electro-mechanical technician, electrical mechanic, or motor winder, particularly with coil winding machines.Technical knowledge : Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, including electrical systems, motors, and automation.Reading comprehension : Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents.Problem-solving : Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve equipment failures.Dexterity and precision : High degree of manual dexterity and attention to detail for hands-on tasks involving delicate components and precise adjustments.Physical stamina : The role may require lifting heavy equipment, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.Communication : Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting work.Compensation : Commensurate with Experience, PTO, Benefits,401(k).
