The contractor will perform hands-on license downloads and installation, coordinate the cutover with the Broadcast / Operations team, validate licensing and performance on vGPU-enabled hosts, and deliver clear step-by-step documentation for future handoffs. Environment (for candidate awareness) VMware virtual infrastructure (VMware ESXi / vCenter) — 42 Ubuntu Linux 64-bit VMs Hardware : Cisco UCS servers with NVIDIA T4 GPUs (multiple servers with 2x T4s each) Current licensing : legacy Flexera-based Windows license server (primary + backup) — deprecated Target licensing : NVIDIA License Server (NLS) token-based server already in production for another team Key responsibilities Download appropriate NLS license tokens from the organization's NVIDIA Enterprise portal and install them on an existing NLS license server (no client-name disclosure required). Assess current license distribution and dependencies on the retired Flexera servers. Plan and execute a non-disruptive migration of the 42 Ubuntu VMs from Flexera to the NLS license server (staged / canary approach recommended). Configure Ubuntu VMs and any intermediate components so they successfully retrieve vGPU licenses from NLS. Validate vGPU functionality and performance (monitoring, basic troubleshooting) after migration. Coordinate scheduling and runbooks with the Broadcast / Operations team to avoid service interruption. Produce thorough, step-by-step documentation and a final knowledge-transfer packet (command examples, troubleshooting tips, rollback procedures, verification checklist). Required skills & experience Hands-on experience with NVIDIA vGPU technologies and licensing (NLS token licensing). Strong Linux administration skills — Ubuntu preferred (package management, services, networking). Experience with VMware virtual machine configuration and enterprise virtualization troubleshooting. Familiarity with Cisco UCS server hardware and GPU host considerations (driver / firmware alignment, passthrough, resource allocation). Practical experience migrating license servers and moving clients from legacy systems to new licensing (non-disruptive cutovers). Good scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar) to automate verification / installation tasks. Excellent documentation skills and ability to create clear runbooks and handoff materials. Strong communication skills and experience coordinating with broadcast / operations or other on-call teams. Nice to have Prior experience with Flexera or similar legacy license server migrations. Exposure to monitoring tools and basic broadcast / AV system awareness (not required to operate broadcast equipment). Experience with containerized environments, if any VMs have container workloads. Deliverables NLS license tokens downloaded and installed on the designated NLS license server. Migration plan and schedule (including canary tests). Successful, validated migration of all 42 Ubuntu VMs to NLS, with verification logs. Full documentation and knowledge transfer packet (installation steps, verification checklist, rollback plan, troubleshooting notes). Final summary report and short remote presentation / walkthrough with the operations team.
