Local Health Administrator I
Franklin County Health Department is seeking a Local Health Administrator I. The hiring salary range is $61,000-$62,525. This position is located within the Administration section of the Franklin County Health Department and reports directly to the Local Health Director. The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating a variety of health programs; systematically pursuing funding for the infrastructure demands that come with a growing county; and working with the community to expand local access to both public and private mental health & substance abuse treatment, as well as primary, urgent, inpatient, and emergency medical healthcare within the county.
This position works with the Health Director, Franklin County Health Department leadership, the Board of Health, other County Departments, and community stakeholders to help secure additional funding for Departmental and Community priorities, and to ensure the Department's policies and procedures are continuously updated to keep pace with new initiatives. This position functions similar to a Chief Operating Officer and would help integrate new initiatives into the department and the community, as well as monitoring and completing all new-funding deliverables (i.e., data and reports), while continuing to focus on improved operations within our existing Health Department programs. Must be an effective public speaker with an ability to convene and facilitate large and small workgroups. Working proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to access grant-portals and to provide detailed online reporting are essential skills for this position.
Education or Experience Requirement : Master's degree in public health administration from a two-year program and one year of experience in administrative management; or master's degree in any area of public health and two years of administrative management experience, one of which must be in a health related program; or master's degree in public administration or any health related field and two years of administrative management experience in a health related program; or graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and four years of experience in a human services field, two of which must have been in a health related program with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Required Immunizations : The following are immunizations that we require for all employees prior to the first date of employment : Two step TST (skin test), Proof of MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) immunity, Hepatitis B series, Evidence of Tdap vaccine, Evidence of varicella immunity : You must have documentation of two doses of varicella given at least 28 days apart or a history of varicella or herpes zoster based on physician diagnosis or laboratory evidence of immunity or laboratory confirmation of disease. If working in the lab, must have documented proof of one dose of meningococcal vaccine.
