Description - Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through standardized evaluations and observation.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate goals and comprehensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Engage in one-on-one therapy sessions focusing on aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to establish unified care strategies.
- Provide education for patients and families to encourage progress outside clinical visits.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout treatment journeys.
- Document evaluations and interventions accurately and promptly, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Commit to continuous learning and advancement in the field through educational opportunities and peer collaboration.
Education - Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not certified by ASHA.
Certifications - State licensure as a Speech Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
